How to map species observations in a region of interest

  1. Zoom in to your area of interest with .
  2. Switch to ROI tab.
  3. Select 'Define a n-shaped polygon ROI' icon.
  4. Draw a polygon on the map by clicking the vertices with the last vertex determined by [Enter] key.
  5. Go to [Add]-[ Query].
  6. 'Observation Query & Summary' window pops up.
  7. In the window, make sure 'Use the polygon drawn on the map' is chosen under 'Spatial interst'.
  8. Enter the species name in question into 'Species' box.
  9. Check 'Species' on for 'Results aggregated by'.
  10. Hit 'Search' button.
  11. Wait for a while (maybe a minute or two) for the results to show up.
    Make the region of interest as small as possible to reduce the calculation time.
  12. Once the results come out, click 'Map Online'.
  13. The observation points for the specified species in the defined region are mapped.
